Introducing Light Mode! If you would like a Bar Towel social experience that isn't the traditional blue, you can now select Light Mode. Go to the User Control Panel and then Board Preferences, and select "Day Drinking" (Light Mode) from the My Board Style drop-down menu. You can always switch back to "Night Drinking" (Dark Mode). Enjoy!
Despite what the story says, I don't see on the LCBO website yet.
I've had it on tap a few times. It's exactly what I expected:
If you're a fan of Lone Pine/WC (like me), then Bone Pine isn't as good, but better than Bone Tree.
And I'd assume... If you're a fan of Bone Tree/Hazy, then Bone Pine isn't as good, but better than Lone Pine.
I asked an employee at Third Moon about it this week. I think he was either a brewer or owner. He confirmed it wouldn’t be sold at Third Moon as it was physically brewed at Sawdust, but would be at Sawdust and Beertown and LCBO, and that it would be 3M’s first LCBO appearance.
"This Bicoastal IPA aims to highlight the strengths of both coasts in one brew. It's crafted with generous Eclipse, Chinook, and Centennial hops, showing tropical fruit notes with the piney bitterness of a West Coast IPA balanced with the smooth mouthfeel of a Hazy East Coast IPA. Enjoy chilled!"
Yeah, odd. I've been having the Great Lakes Both Coasts this week. Not bad, but it really just comes off as a classic IPA in the English style. Maybe the regional influences are being rounded off?
Brands are for cattle.
Fans are cash cows.
The herd will consume until consumed.
This bi-coastal thing is just sort of how I've perceived the typical "American" IPA offerings that aren't distinctly NE or west coast for the past few years. Some have been pretty good, especially since I've hit some serious haze fatigue, but a lot sorta occupy this wishy-washy middle ground.
The IPA world is not content unless an official new variation is being invented though, so hence yet another term to add to the ever growing list of substyles.
I was pleasantly surprised to see Omnipollo Noa Pecan Mud Cake Imperial Stout at the LCBO this week. Tried this way back in Europe and loved it. I haven’t tried this batch, but have high hopes. Decently priced too
