A 5 mill opening marketing campaign.
Millions spent on ongoing TV and radio advertising.
Millions spent on sponsorship rights for football teams and hockey arena's.
A large, expensive sales force that doesn't seem to have a clue about the beer or selling beer.
Investment in some very expensive downtown property for a brewpub in a location that hasn't survived under 2 previous operators.
Frank is renowned as a hustler in a series of somewhat questionable business'.
A lot of really bad beer that hasn't sold well at all.
Steelback is not financed by shareholders.

Okay, the question is;
How does this abortion serve Barry Sherman as Chairman & Ceo of Apotex Pharma? His billions are financing it - whats this all about. Is there a forensic auditor out there that can shed some light?

Are you positive that Sherman/Apotex has a stake in Steelback? I saw him mentioned as a financier in D'Angelo's bid for a CFL team in Ottawa, but there was no suggestion in anything I read that he had any connection to the brewery or D'Angelo's other businesses.

Steelback delivers the pathogen and Apotex is the only provider of the antidote?

I wish.

Many moons back, I worked on an herbal beer development project for a company named QTF foods, a wholly owned subsidiary of Apotex, located in, of all places, the same plant in Tiverton. Most of my meetings with the people in charge happened in Apotex offices.

I won't get into the whole story but the company was put into receivership with a shitload of payables. Most unsecured creditors (like me) were left with large unpaid receivables.

If this project is indeed financed by Mr. Sherman, I know a few people who would be very interested in confirming that.

Pax.

Seriously I have always wondered how Frank finds operating and expansion capital and staves off bankruptcy in the farcical Steelback business plan....maybe perennial losers with yearly write downs is a magnet for "silent" partners/investors looking to get some excess taxable capital out of sight? :-?

Steelback is less a brewery as it is a commercial property investment company with a few well heeled clients?

No property investment going on here. As with many other branded arenas and stadiums, Steelback is simply paying for the naming rights for the Steelback Centre. I believe that the building itself is owned by the city.
