Mikkeller
Mikkeller
I was just on the R+R website. It says they will be adding Mikkeller to their portfolio in early 2008. I nearly wetted myself with excitement - looks like a very, very fine brewery. Lets hope this comes to pass, and well done to R+R for helping us get great beer. Anyway, here's the link:

I held back commenting after the Jolly Pumpkin announcement, but this is getting too much! These guys are quickly becoming Shelton Brothers North. Any chance you guys at R&R have any interest in the Nova Scotia market? Pretty please? We even have private stores you can deal with instead of a monolithic government controlled monopoly. And we have that to if that's what you prefer...

Well, thank you so much for visiting our site and noticing the latest additions to our beer portfolio, as well as for the flattering words. That's very kind of you.
The Ontario market is both large and demanding, but despite that we are exploring opportunities in other provinces and have assisted a few of our clients with their foray into Quebec.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you for supporting the products are agency has been bringing in. It's quite helpful when there is a good response to new beers entering the market as it demonstrates to the brewery and the LCBO that there is a client base for such products. Your support on this site for Thomas Hardy's Ale helped bring it into the LCBO as part of the upcoming Winter Warmers.
We have certainly learned a great deal from the posts here and will do our best to meet your expectations both in terms of customer service and product line.
In 2008 we will hopefully bring in at least a few more special and recognized craft beers.
Best to all,

Mikkeller and De Struise will be available through consignment. We opted for this route as their beers are presold many, many months in advance and private ordering is a fairly long process. Plus, it is difficult to bring in seasonal or specialty beers through the private ordering time frame as producers like to get as close to a pallet as possible and this can take some time. We were afraid that we would miss a chance to get a shipment of Jackie Brown or Aardmonnik (and others) while waiting to compile a pallet worth of private orders. For these kinds of high demand products breweries usually ask for a firm commitment.
We will post details (pricing, availability, delivery method) as soon as the first shipment arrives.
If everything goes as planned, there will be some amazing beers, hopefully, enough for everyone interested.
As far as private ordering goes, there are still a few spots available for the next shipment of Panil Bariquee Sour.
Cheers,

Bottom line - will there be any way to acquire some of these at LCBO prices instead of bar markup prices?
Thanks!
No. Private order means it's all spoken for before the order is placed. Consignment means the beer is brought into an LCBO consignment warehouse, and then the agent has a certain amount of time to sell it. In theory, you could call an import agent who has consignment space (such as R&R or Esprit), and ask if they've got a case of something available. In practice, though, most agents have a good idea of how much beer to bring in on consignment in any given order, because they know who they'll be able to sell it to, and in what quantity. Thus, by the time it actually hits the consignment warehouse, a whole lot of it is probably already spoken for.

Hello and Happy New Year.
Here is a quick update regarding our first shipment of Mikkeller beers.
Due to changes in their productions schedule, the Beer Geek Breakfast will not be bottled until March 1st. The other two beers that we are keen to import (Stateside and Jackie Brown ) are currently available, but we decided to wait for the BGB and bring all three at once. Mikkel was very kind to put aside some Stateside for us. Just to play it safe, this will come through consigment - therefore we will be sure that we are taking orders for beers that are actually here in Ontario. This will save us from possible disappointments. Final pricing will be announced as soon as we have the transportation costs and other logistics taken care of.
Thanks!
