Looking for the original Bar Towel blog? You can find it at www.thebartowel.com.
We have a trivia question in order to register to prevent bots. If you have any issues with answering, contact us at cass@bartowel.com for help.
Introducing Light Mode! If you would like a Bar Towel social experience that isn't the traditional blue, you can now select Light Mode. Go to the User Control Panel and then Board Preferences, and select "Day Drinking" (Light Mode) from the My Board Style drop-down menu. You can always switch back to "Night Drinking" (Dark Mode). Enjoy!

What're you drinking right now?
I just had a Carlsberg with my lunch. I know, I know, it's not exactly a complex-tasting beer, but there's a time and a place for everything.
It's weird, I hadn't had a Carlsberg in awhile but it keeps popping up in my life recently - I just entered their "best mate" competition a couple days ago, heh.

Hello Vancouver! Hello hops!
So far this week;
Moylan's Hopsickle Imperial IPA
Bear Republic Racer 5
Green Flash West Coast IPA
Central City Red Racer IPA
Tree Hophead (used to be my favorite BC IPA but the Red Racer is better)
Rogue Santa's reserve
The availability of amazing beers in this city has exploded with the change to a two tiered liquor retailing system...more on that in another thread.

I don't always piss in a bottle but when I do...I prefer to call it Dos Equis.

I totally missed the boat on the Brick Bock. Went to the brewery last Sunday to see if there were any left and was told that it was all gone and Jim's legacy was put to rest......never got to try this bit of Ontario craft brewing heritage.carguy wrote:Grand River Plowmans, Hockley Dark, and to finish the day, my last Brick Bock.
Drinking a Pike XXXXX Extra Stout right now (half-Imperial? 7%). Pretty big and bombastic, but it works extremely well and is suprisingly well balanced.
Sipping a Victory Hop Devil.
Just got back from Buffalo, with treasure. 35 beers in total, some from Wegman's and lots more from Premier. Stone is four bucks a bomber at Wegmans. A few little beers I can't wait to try are Hennnepin Saison, Mikkeller Beer Geek's Brunch 'Weasel', Ommegang Biére de Mars, Amager Hr. Fredriksen, and Struise Black Albert. Should be lots of cellar-pickin' fun!!

Wegman's, up by Coles is a great beer place. And their prices are way more manageable than Premier.Belgian wrote:Sipping a Victory Hop Devil.

I became a Canadian citizen yesterday morning. To celebrate we had a champagne style beer from Quebec called La Futée Blanche, Old Deutronomy (my favourite Canadian barleywine), Publican House Square Nail and cask Headstrong.
I'd never had the Square Nail before, and I thought it was outstanding. It reminded me a lot of the DFH 60 minute because it had a very leafy and bitter profile. However, I also got a lot of tea flavour out of it, which I don't with the DFH. Awesome beer which will become a regular for me if it keeps cropping up in Toronto.
