Sensational!
The bus left The Victory about eight seconds after three- thirty, that was a good sign. From the moment of arrival at Black Oak, the beer flowed freely, the food was constant and the assembled were in a festive mood. The entertainment was fun too. All the beers went down well, I agree Jeremy the Pale was extra good. Nancy's Chili was killer.
The 10:00 bus to Islington Station departed, fairly promptly too.
As the bus pulled away, I felt like I did in 1967 leaving Expo 67.
Wonderful, and yet a little sad to leave the party.
Ken and Adrian You threw a fabulous Grand Opening!
May You prosper in Your new place.
Many Thanks, and Cheers, Doug

Great stuff. The Black Oak team really went all out. I was on the last bus and arrived just early enough to try the Hop Bomb, which was in great form. The whiskey Chocolate Cherry Stout was an interesting variation on the norm and I really enjoyed it too. Thanks Ken and everyone else who contributed.

It was a superbly organised day yesterday. Kudos to Ken, Adrian and the staff from Local 4. Beer was on good form, food, especially the chilli was wonderful. I felt bad leaving earlyJon Walker wrote:The mime couldn't make it as this happened just before;

I had a feeling things weren't going to go our way when Fergie named a starting 11 with only two of our first team players. Regardless of playing our reserves kudos to Everton and good luck against Chelsea. I'll settle for the Prem and the Champions League trophies (hopefully).
I don't always piss in a bottle but when I do...I prefer to call it Dos Equis.
You mean that wasn't the hotel???? No wonder the bed was so uncomfortable...Cass wrote:An excellent time, thanks so much to Ken and the Black Oak team for putting it all together. It was great seeing so many people from the beer world. Hopefully no one ended up in the correctional facility across the street

Wow - I had such a brilliant time. Bus left bang on 1530 from Victory, from the moment we arrived in the brewery we were treated like friends. The beer was in great shape, there were hotdogs and chilli galore, the craic was 90 as we say in Ireland and the atmosphere was great.
Ken - thanks so much, it was a fantastic event. It was such a great Toronto event, you've really raised the bar.
Slainte,
Al

So, I was in the beer store yesterday, I couldn't be arsed walking down to the LCBO. I had in my hand a sixer of Sam Adams Lager and a Sixer of Paulaner Hefeweissbier ( think) . Then out of the corner of my eye I saw the Black Oak boxes and I got to thinking about how great the opening was and how grateful I was. I put the two boxes back on the shelf and grabbed 12 Nut Brown - it's a small token but they taste great and I'll be back for more
