I popped open a Cantillon Iris on Saturday and really enjoyed it, although of the few Cantillon's I've had so far the gueuze is still my favourite. Its a real wine drinker's beer.JesseM wrote:Cantillon Iris pretty much changed me as a beer geek in terms of experiencing how mind-blowing a sour can really be.
Wow I didn't know this place existed! I know what I'm doing tonight.notdan wrote:There's a beer bar in Gatineau that I've been meaning to check out with six different Cantillon beers listed on their website. I'll be sure to try one when I do make it over there!

EDIT: They also have a couple Rodenbach beers that I seem to read about quite a bit. If you notice any other sours/Flanders ales worth trying on that list then please let me know; it's a style I have lots to learn about.
Great Lakes Pumpkin. I really enjoy this beer.. refreshing, plenty of flavour while not being over the top. That said I find the second half a bit harder to get down. The flavours start to be a bit much. I know Great Lakes favours the 650ml bottles for me 350ml would be perfect.
That said, if my biggest complaint about a well made local seasonal is the size of the bottle it comes in - the problem is me!

I wish I realized the Scotch Irish Plain Porter was there. I picked up the GLB Pumpkin Ale at the SLM LCBO, but I didn't look around closely enough apparently. I'm assuming it was with the other Scotch Irish products and I thought it was just the usual Session Ale & Bitter Brown. Oh well, enjoying the Pumpkin Ale now.velovampire wrote:Picked up some of this and the GLB Pumpkin at the St. Lawrence Mkt. LCBO today. Looking forward to trying both after work tonight...matt7215 wrote:scotch irish plain porter, first one of the season and the unfiltered version is drinking awesome. get it while its fresh.
