...and it was wonderful. After reading all the comments here, I was really looking forward to trying this and I wasn't disappointed.

#9 honestly changes a bit each time, and the best pint I had was at C'est from weeks ago. It was about as good as fresh draught Lagunitas and beers in that true American style with peachy piney 3-D hops that are open and tingly but not brassy or harsh.

This is one of my favourite Ontario IPA's. I've had it on cask at Volo (during round 1 of the cask challenge) and on tap at C'est What. I prefer it by cask, but both are good. There's a lot of grapefruit to the taste, so if you like citrusy IPA's, you should love this.

Sounds liek I'll need to try this again. I was wholly underwhelmed by it when I had it at C'est What awhile back, and have skipped over it numerous times since then.

I'll be at Cest what this weekend, so I hope it is on so I can give it a whirl!

It's actually starting to taste a bit "old" now. It wasn't a shadow of it's former self on cask this past Saturday and by last night it had become undrinkable, IMO. And I just can't drink the keg stuff, just doesn't taste or feel right. A shame.

I thought it tasted a lot like a hopped up version of Tankhouse when I had a pint at beerbistro.

Tried the #9 on tap at C'est What on Sun. I liked it but not sure this is an IPA. This is one malty IPA. Would like to try this on cask.

Same here. Except I had it at Volo. It wasn't bad but it didn't wow me enough to repeat. Based on what other people are saying I think I seriously need to give it another try.

Geez, hopefully it is in ok form on Sunday!

If it's on Keg then you'll be fine, if you like that kind of beer. It's just the brewery conditioned "cask ale" that has gone a little 'stale' and old tasting, IMHO.

Remember when everyone was in love with Sgt. Major's? Remember when we all had a hoppy IPA we could be proud about, but then the relationship soured? Well, happy times have returned, my friends, because there's now a great bottle Toronto IPA which you can all go and pick up!

Number 9 has made the transition to bottle very well. I'd say its slightly less juicy and a bit more toasty than on tap, but ridiculously sessionable for it. Still got some good grapefruit to it, a decent bitterness (especially by Ontario standards), a fresh nose, and some good looks. Congratulations to Mike on a successful bottling!
