On draft at Smokeless Joe tonight, Dead Elephant Ale on draft. Really good, and ice cold as befits most West Coast-styled beers. Natural-tasting, full-flavoured beer.

Long trail imperial porter. Great stuff. Very American, but not over-the-top.

That's a great beer, as is their imperial coffee stout.

I'm guessing his homebrew still cider. Which, by the way, is quite delicious.

I was impressed by Ommegang Witte, and to me the Abbey Ale this time tasted a little too much like a dry Sherry. Rare Vos is amazing though!

Recently at C'est What, a half each of Russian Gun and Hoptical Illusion, served on handpump (real ale). Both in faultless condition and at perfect temperature. The Russian Gun - which has to be the best name for a beer in Canada and maybe anywhere - had a rich malty taste with cereal overtones and good but not strong hopping. The Hoptical offered a prominent taste of American hops on a restrained malt base. I would have mixed them for the next round, but two were enough factoring the Gun's high caliber.

I had fish & chips from High Street, so I wanted something light & pale.

I went for my last Hop Nouveau... and it's still quite drinkable!

Trying to kill this keg of unintentially Brett infected dubbel, to making way for the quad. Just tapped a barleywine too.
