Yep, the price point is rather brutal. Roughly $25 per bottle. I picked up about a case and a half of mix and match and nearly cried at the bill. That's my beer budget for pretty much the next half year. I'll have to start dipping into my closet O' stored beers.
A case and a half! While I understand the tears at the bill my beery heart would be dancing with glee!

Got 3 of the Alberta shipment in and am quite looking forward to them.

This is why I never use the washroom when you're over. Adult diapers are a small price to pay to keep my lambics intact.

That's how he gets all of his good beer. The rest he just home brews.

Giant brass balls, to be specific.

.....not really. I had about $300 worth of gift certificates saved up (my family knows me well) and I knew the Cantillon was coming in since about last November, so I just held off using them until now. The remaining $150 was still a ton of money for me to spend on booze, however. Cantillon and 3 Fonteinen are about the only beers I would put up that kind of cash for.

At least you know they'll be good (maybe better?) for years and years to come. I was always disappointed when I'd buy a case of IPA and it started tasting different (read: less hoppy) after only a couple weeks. Then I had to start rushing through it, forcing myself to have beer when I didn't really feel like having beer, thus not enjoying my purchase the way I intended to. Plus, not that I condone this kind of thing, but if you really fell on hard times, or just wanted to justify the purchase economically, those beers will likely appreciate in value over the years too.

The Cantillon shipment is supposed to hit Regina next week!

I was "buttering up" my wife about purchasing some, and to my surprise she says, "well if it is that hard to come by, and that good, then of course you have to buy some."

As well, a local restaurant (the Fainting Goat) is expecting their first shipment of Red Racer IPA, possibly next week. And they won't be selling it for $30/can like in TO... it is already listed in their menu at $6.

AND, a keg of this should also be hitting Regina next week, pretty sure it will be a Canadian exclusive - http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/140/55157. And it will only be available at MY HOUSE.

Having now drank a few, the Cantillon is worth every penny. It's good to have understanding spouses.

As for the keg of Sierra Nevada Baltic porter. Seriously? :o Wicked jealous.
