Christoffel Nobel, pretty nice pilsner with hoppy flavour throughout. Reminded me somewhat of Victory Prima Pils.

At Coles Buffalo today, of particular note were Brooklyn Black Mattter, Lagunitas WTF Ale and the stunningly sippable Etienne Dupont Cidre Bouché Brut de Normandie.

Charlevoix Dominus Vobiscum Lupulus. A damned big beer for a Sunday afternoon, but what a wonderful ale - could almost have me liking Belgian-style ales.

Split a Dogfish 120 Minute IPA with some folks at at beerbistro - this aged & mellowed bottle was absolutely delicious and worth a try. Now I want to try a really fresh hoppy one to compare.

I've had fresh DFH 120 and it was still a sugar bomb to me. Enjoyable, but the malt really over powered the the hops.

Maybe the malts as well as hops gain real flavor from aging - you know, smoothing out the jangling flavors & hiding the sweetness and alcohol.

I have heard people say fresh DFH120 is a 'boozy sugary mess' but this older bottle had incredible integration & layers of aromas that jump out of the glass. Really as interesting as Westvleteren 12 in the way it had such fearless & wine-like big flavors.
