Homebrew Labels

Post by phirleh »

I want to do some beers for a television show I'm finishing off at my work and I want to do some custom labels (but I also don't want to be cursing my decision when I have to scrape the labels off all the bottles). What do you guys use for custom labels? Avery labels or anything else?
I've got photoshop skills and a colour printer so it's something I'd like to tackle myself.

Glue Stick is good for affixing labels. It's water soluble so they come off very easily.

Love doing lables in Photoshop but never get around to actually printing and sticking them on.

My daughters usually help me with putting little dollar-store stickers on the cap so I can differentiate what's what.

Dredge, or brush a bit of milk on the back of the label. Makes a great adhesive and comes off super easy.

Heh, more than a +1 as I was making reference to thatleetboy's labels. Photoshop and glue stick: easy, non-toxic and pro.

Thanks for the advice, the glue stick worked perfectly. The only drawback was people wanted to keep the bottles as souveniers. Out of the 25 bottles I brought in to work, I only got 11 back!

BTW, the show is on Discovery Science in the States now and is called Machines!, it starts probably in the fall up here on Discovery Canada.

That looks really great, I'm glad they worked out!
