Heading up to Grand River Brewing Co.

Post by dutchcanuck »

A quick question to you die hard Grand River fans. I have a meeting in Guelph today, so I'm going to stop in at the brewery on my way home. Any suggestions of what I should pick up? Also, do they have a seasonal on right now?

Thanks in advance,

Ken

Our seasonals are the Plowman's Anniversary Ale and Raspberry Pils along with our regular brands. We have 11 bottles of the Vlaams Rood left from a recent bottling (unoaked). You will have to ask for it. Cheers!

Rob,

Thanks for the updated information. I'll be stopping in at the brewery around 5pm, so please don't close early ;) I look forward to picking up a bottle of the Vlam Rood and the Plowman's Anniversary Ale. Its been a year since I've been to the brewery...far too long.

Cheers,
Ken

So what's the "Plowman's Anniversary Ale"?

(Note: A hopped up version like batch #1 would make a great anniversary ale...what was that one, 70 IBU?)

On edit... I see on ratebeer it's a 6.5% IPA... is it bottled or was this just a small batch on the pilot system?

Got up last weekend and picked up some of the Plowman's Anniversary Ale. Delicious! One question I didn't have a chance to ask at the brewery but someone here will undoubtedly know - what happened to the Town Hall Lager? I always thought it was the perfect beer to keep on hand for those friends who need beer help. Plus my wife loved it so it helped smooth the waters when I wanted to stop there on drives out west on the 401. But it's seemingly not around any more even though it was one of the early GR beers. Anyone know what the deal is?

Have you tried the Galt Knife Old Style Lager?

The Galt Knife is still around. Actually, it is an LCBO listing, so you could likely get a case transfered to your area.
