Couldn't agree more! Loving the Derniere and the Route des Epices is a surprise find - I quite enjoy the building heat, feel it's nicely balanced and would work well with quite a few different foods.

Yes, Rich and Deb showed us one hell of a time (thanks for the gear too!). The Mill Race, London Pride, and SPA were in excellent form, and their wings are probably the best in the region.

I was a little disappointed with the Skookum. Maybe I had an older bottle, but it didn't even resemble a Black IPA. It's more like a well-hopped brown ale, and perhaps that's why they've gone with the 'Cascadian Brown' name. Anyhow, it was a great night all around, and thankfully it didn't end with Piero's!

The Skookum is definitely a well hopped Brown ale, not a Black IPA.

Trois Pistoles (650ml bottle for $9) followed by a Peche Mortel, a quick walk home from the bar and now on to a 2006 Fullers 1845; loads of yeast & malt on the nose, and an astringent bitterness on taste. I think this is past it :-?

i've pulled some serious gems from the cellar and stocked the fridge with goodies for tomorrow's brewday and birthday celebration. fun times ahead!

Aphrodisiacque - my favorite bottled beer (I know, better on draught.)

2006 Okocim Porter - what a great aroma, the flavor is becoming sweet and a bit mineral. Looks really great too...

Flying Dog Woody Creek White.
For a beer below 5% abv, this sure has a lot of body.
