Well apparently running for health purposes is a scam... my foot was bothering me today, went to the doctor and he said I have achilles tendinitis now. He said I should stop running for a bit. I asked if he suggest I drink tonight instead of going to the gym and he said yes. So on (the implied) doctors orders I had a Red Racer IPA, Thomas Hardy's 2008 and Ommegang Abbey Ale.

Seriously, I'm glad you take care of yourself. I don't run, but I do tonnes of hiking(due to birding and fly fishing) and I eat well. To look at me you wouldn't know of course

But I just can't do the whole calorie thing. It seems restrictive and it makes you paranoid and worrying all the time. Just be healthy and enjoy a beer when you want one.

Finally tried Smashbomb tonight. Very nice stuff. I'd like to try it on tap before I make a final opinion as to how incredible it is, but it is a very delicious American IPA and I hope to see it on LCBO shelves sooner than later.

Followed this with a Blonde de Chambly. Screw the haters. I really like this beer.

Finally tried Smashbomb tonight. Very nice stuff. I'd like to try it on tap before I make a final opinion as to how incredible it is, but it is a very delicious American IPA and I hope to see it on LCBO shelves sooner than later.

Are there a lot of haters for the Blonde? It is well made and sessionably tasty. If there is hate for this beer, then it is mis-placed!

I've come across complaints about a lack of funk or having too light and watery a taste. True, no funk, but it doesn't take away from how tasty the beer is.

Agreed. And the hate about no funk likely comes from some moron labeling this beer as a Saison. As if.

Saranac Pale Ale. Much better than I thought it would be. It's actually one of the better EPAs that I've tried. This might become a regular for me!

It's a good beer to enjoy a pint of, and not every Saison will come off as something brewed in a barn somewhere in rural Belgium - particularly from a major craft beer producer trying to market the beer everywhere.

It's a good effort from Unibroue, not a disappointment unless you were expecting a quirky or demanding beer (yeah right.)

-- oh -- and REALLY enjoying Corne du Diable, which really grows on me now just like it did last year. So be sure to try more than one or two. Hope it makes General List!
