Post by GregClow »

I saw the latest OCB Discovery Pack at the Cooper St. store today - here are the details from the OCB website:

The newest edition of the OCB Discovery Pack (LCBO# 206839) – the 6th in the OCB's ongoing series of popular samplers – has been announced. The new Fall Discovery Pack features a brand new six-pack line-up of the OCB's finest craft beer offerings in bottles for you to sample.

The beers featured in the OCB Fall Discovery Pack are:

* Great Lakes Red Leaf Lager
* Black Oak Pale Ale
* Nickel Brook Ale
* Wellington Iron Duke
* Mill Street Tankhouse Ale
* Cameron's Dark 266

A ho hum mixed pack, offering more of the same stuff with nothing pushing the envelope. Way to go OCB, for maintaining mediocrity!

As usual, I would only normally only buy half the beers in the pack. Though, as has been mentioned, I guess we aren't really the target market.

I'm trying to think what my ideal OCB mix pack would be, given that it would need to include some of the province's more prominent craft breweries, and that each beer would (probably) need to be already available at the LCBO, or at least bottled (in a 330mL bottle).

maybe...

Mill Street Coffee Porter
Wellington Iron Duke
Black Oak Pale Ale
King Pilsner
Scotch Irish Corporal's Bitter Brown
Flying Monkeys Hoptical Illusion

If that was a 6-pack, I would buy several.

Anyone else?

When I went to Black Oak the other day ken didn't have any new boxes so I got a 6 of 10 Bitter Years in a number 4 OCB mix pack, now that's an awesome pack. (according to the pack, Mill Street Coffee Porter and Hoptical Illusion were part of the release)
