SON OF A BONESHAKER! SOB/Amsterdam homebrew contest

Post by Lager Bore »

Son of a Boneshaker! is the Southern Ontario Brewers' Autumn 2010 homebrew contest.

Son of a Boneshaker! is a bjcp sanctioned competition, and is open to all bjcp styles and categories. All entries will be judged by professional brewers or judges recognized by the bjcp.

The showcase category of this competition is of course Son of a Boneshaker! Beers entered in this category will be compared to the Amsterdam's unique Big Beer, Boneshaker. Jamie Mistry will judge this category.
Keep in mind Iain was brewing up a batch of Boneshaker during Learn 2 Brew, so...
head down to the Amsterdam to pick up a case and get the inside track!

All the contest details including brewer's notes for Boneshaker are available at this link:

Happy Brewing!
Cheers

Update

Sonofaboneshaker!

A few days ago we were asked to consider affiliating the Sonofaboneshaker! homebrew contest with the Canadian Brewer of the Year organization. It didn't take long to say yes.

This is a great initiative to help build a national community and strengthen our ties across Canada. Kind of like a CPR of homebrew. Take some time to check out their website and browse through last year's standings. I'm sure you know at least one person there.

As with Plan It For The Granite and the Amsterdam Nut Brown Lookalike contest, we will be announcing the winners at an SOB get-together. The laws of this province make it difficult to say more on the subject presently but look forward to something some time in late January to February. You'll have plenty of time to mark it off on the fridge calendar.

If you haven't entered a contest before, consider entering SOB's Sonofaboneshaker!. Not only will you be up for some nice swag, and possibly some swell prizes, but you'll get some objective feedback about your beer from certified judges. Positive constructive criticism that you can use on your next brew day.

So, with steely resolve, put a couple bottles from that last batch aside, and keep them for Sonofaboneshaker. You won't regret it!

Cheers
Roger
