Thank you. Just a big huge THANK YOU for bringing this in, whichever agent is responsible. As well as to the brewer, and even the LCBO.
This is the kind of beer I want to drink for the rest of my life. So much resin, such amazing malt backbone, such juicy, mouth-watering hops. I love it.

Wow - we are blushing - thanks for the kid words! you just made Stefan's day (our brewmaster)
Let the praise continue! I tried one last night and have to say it's one of, if not the best IIPA I've ever tasted! A great beer from beginning to end.
Chris from Tree - How long is the Hophead good for? I'm not sure about the ageability of IIPA's. Just wondering if there's any point in stocking up.

My experience with IPAs/DIPAs is that they are fresh for 3-4 months and good for 5-6 months before you really start to notice the hops diminishing.
I am pretty sure (Chris can correct me here if I am wrong) that this batch of Hophead is already at a about 2 or 2.5 months ...

it all depends on how you store it - some people have been able to keep it for over a year with no issues and others have not been so lucky. To be sure you enjoy every bottle we suggest you enjoy it within 8 moths of brewing - so for the 2011 batch you are good until end of August
When I moved to Kelowna in August, my local government store still had some on the shelf (at room temperature). After I tried one, I went back and cleaned them out. It didn't have the same fresh hop character, but the alcohol had mellowed a bit and it was a real easy drinker!
I think this years packs even more flavour, so you could easily drink it all summer... especially if you had the fridge space.
Have had numerous years of Hophead and I have to say this is perhaps the best of them. Found last year's too malty and sweet, just a little rough as well.
Need to go get as many as possible before the store's are empty!
I enjoyed the bottle I had last night. Very nicely balanced for an IIPA. I usually like a little more hop presence in the nose, but that didn't take away too much from the overall experience.
There was one interesting flavour note that I was picking up. Can't quite put my finger on what it was, but it reminded me of Rogue Hazlenut Brown Nectar.
Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity.
Grabbed 6 of them yesterday and had one with dinner last night. It's a very drinkable and balanced DIPA with just enough juicy-oily hop character to satisfy the most discerning beer geek. Really complimented the spiciness of my butter chicken dish. I'll be snagging another half case if supply permits.
good hop aroma but definitely lacking in hop flavour. too dominated by the malts, especially for a IIPA. some pine in the finish. not at all comparable to good American IPAs. Still a good beer and im thrilled the LCBO had this, but overall im a little disappointed.
Definitely a malt-forward IIPA. Lots of caramel and malt sweetness. The hops were almost non-existent in the nose. The hops showed up a lot more in the palate but mostly just as bittering hops. There was next to no flavour contribution from the hops at all, which was disappointing.
I did like this beer but I didn't love it and I won't buy any beyond the 6 bottles that I picked up already.
This actually reminded me a lot of the Garrison IIPA.
