A "young timer" CSR in the Oakville store told me that if he had his way, there would be no open boxes at all, because of all the extra work he has to do at inventory time!SteelbackGuy wrote:...Also, back in the day, you were not allowed to mix the singles. So you still have a lot of the old timers that believe that, and of course they pass that along to the younger employees. They are stuck in their ways and it can be very damaging to the attitudes of others...
So, what I'd do is take the singles up to the counter along with your god given right as a lover of great beer, and if you get a hard time, ask to speak to the manager...
I will certainly speak to a manager, and get this Rogue scanning problem dealt with. I'll let you know what happens.
On your other point, Bar Towel is a magnet for good information, for me. I'm not a complainer by nature. But I would say that many of us experience an entrenched bureaucratic inertia at the LCBO. It's a crown-owned agency disguised as a retailer...but without having the competitive pressure of being an actual retailer. Steelbackguy, you seem to take complete ownership of problems, and you take pride in your work. I feel you may be a rarity, and not the majority.
Thanks for your help on all of this.
