My first ever Dieu du ciel beer, Rosée d'hibiscus. I'm a bit underwhelmed. Hope their others are more flavourful.

Drinking a Mad Tom IPA while playing some records and packing for a weekend camping trip to Jasper. Now, what to take camping?

Having a few new ones tonight. First was a anchor humming ale. A very light tasting ale with a nice firm white bread malt flavor with a light grapey bitter taste. It was a pretty interesting beer. Some of these some ales have really impressed me this year. brooklyn summer ale being another one that comes to mind. Than I had a 5am saint and hard core iipa from brewdog private order. The 5am saint is excellent and the hard core iipa is decent. definerly lost alot of its flavor. Now I am drinking a Soudts iipa. Really interesting beer. Truly a mix of american and british ipas with a mixed hoping. At 10% i think this will be my final beer of the evening.

Driftwood Twenty Pounder IIPA
Westvleteren 12

And yes, I saved 2oz of each and did try mixing them near the end. Not bad but the hops blew out all the layers of the Westy 12.
I don't always piss in a bottle but when I do...I prefer to call it Dos Equis.

I was 'offered' some Westy 8 at a store in Vancouver last weekend...the look on the guys face when I said I wasn't a fan was priceless. Each to their own ;-)

Glad it's not just me, I don't see the point in the price difference.

The Rosée is a bit of a grower, and I've come to like it, but yes of course many of their countless beers are very good (and well-differentiated, unlike say Unibroue.)

Just now - Phillips Hop Circle IPA, aroma hops are rounded off but very tasty. Last night's Harvest ale was very well put together, though weird at first (may have just been me.)

Today in Toronto shared between my girlfriend while celebrating our anniversary:

Avery Out of Bounds (bottle)
King Vienna Lager (draught)
Sierra Nevada Torpedo IPA (bottle)
North Coast Old Stock Ale 2009 (bottle) - god damn!
Cheshire Valley ESB (cask)
St Ambroise IPA (draught)
Cameron's Reginald Hopburn (draught)
And quite a lot of Great Lakes Fang Donor (cask) - I don't think I've ever had such a citrusy IPA

I also had a half of Great Lakes Miami Weiss and I have to agree with the above, it's WAY too similar to Crazy Canuck.
