Agreed. The Gumballhead has a stronger/more intense aroma and, in comparison to the Weiss, focuses more on hop flavour than astringent bitterness, but both beers are exemplary takes on the Wheat Ale style. From my perspective, Miami's bolder bitterness and lower ABV (4.5% vs. 5.5%) distinguish it from Gumball in a positive way i.e. they constitute Great Lakes' own unique interpretation of an APWA. If the Weiss was an exact carbon copy of the GBH, I'm not sure that would be a good thing (originality should count for something, right?).TheSevenDuffs wrote: There are similarities to Gumballhead, but Gumballhead is the superior beer.
