Garrett Oliver and the Oxford Companion to Beer

Post by JeffPorter »

Wanted to know if anyone else was excited about this book.

I pre-ordered a copy today...the book looks like it's going to be awesome. Nearly a thousand pages of beery goodness...

Not a bad deal at Amazon...cover price is 65.00, and they're selling it pre-order right now for $40...

Forgot to mention that it's scheduled to be released at the end of October...

Apparently this project has been in the works since 2007!

Worth the wait if it's any thing like the Companion to Wine. Excited to get this one. Thanks for the heads up.
I don't always drink beer ... because sometimes my friends win and we have to go to macro-only establishments.

Really? I thought it wasn't being released till the end of October. I guess early releases never hurt anyone though. Now if only actual beer releases would follow the same pattern we'd be set. :P

It seems to have been released early in the US. Amazon.com lists it as "In Stock" even though the release date is listed as October 7th.

The release party is happening tonight at Brooklyn Brewery. Josh Rubin flew down for it, so a story in the Star may follow.

Man I can't wait for mine to come! Hopefully Indigo and Amazon.ca will release soon too!
