Talk to them Peter. Explain to them the prestige of getting this along with the advertising angle would be pure gold. They can totally mark it up too, and people would still line up to get it. Tell them national security would benefit too, as they'd see a lot fewer shady packages coming over from Belgium.

The monastery offerred us limited supplies as an "auction" to raise funds. We were offerred an opportunity to participate...we declined. We will see limted supplies of 8 & 12 perhaps 2 or 3 times per year. We will never offer it to the LCBO as there is no reason to do so since we can sell 10 times what what we can get privately. Right now we're looking at a waiting period of about 6 months as the order on the way is oversold. Just as a "by the way", when we brought in our first order 2 years ago and Volo conducted a blind tasting of Belgian-style Quadrupels including Westy and the usual Belgians along with some Quebecers, the overall winner was Achel Extra the smallest and newest Trappist and we have it at $136.80 for 12 x 750ml. We also carry the direct, same village knock-off, St. Bernardus Abt 12 at $120.00 for 24 x 330ml as compared to $384.00 for Westy. In my humble opinion, the nuances are very subtle but that's my opinion. We're already sold out of our latest order of Abt 12 as well. Westy 12 is a once in a lifetime experience...it's like seeing the Eiffel Tower...impressive the first time and then...what the helll?

The Achel Extra is fantastic. My favourite Belgian quad.

I love the idea of not giving a crap when I next drink Westy. I'll get over there someday so fuck it.

Haha. I'm sure I will treat myself to one before I ever get to Belgium, but I seem to keep missing these split cases that are going around.

As a collector of beer glasses, I know I'll never be fully satisfied until I have one in my own Westy glass.
