Does this count? The effort was sustained for almost an hour before the government rejected it.

Good idea to start our own review of the system to raise our concerns. We could probably put together a pretty good summary to submit to the LCBO and our MPPs. It might not accomplish anything at the end of the day, but nothing is happening anyway. Anyone wiling to take charge of this, preferably someone gooder at writing than I am?

Well, I've only read the executive summary so far and it is a rather radical approach which is no wonder the government dismissed it.

And the media. Egg needs to hit the LCBO's faces... While I'd contribute ideas, I don't think I'm the best person to write anything lengthy, official-like nor am I organized enough to take something like this on. Anyone dying for potential TV and radio air time?

I just got back from the HWY 7 and woodbine location in markham as well. There were NONE on the shelves (not even a label for it), and after the website told me there were only 4 left (which apparently grub got to) i was disappointed. I asked anyways, and after the guy shuffled around in the back for 10 minutes, he brought me out an unopened case.

I would have bought the whole case, but because of the HotD private order, I'm keeping my money for that

Also picked up a dead guy ale... plenty of those on the shelf.

I'm probably going to get 20-30 or so and give them out to all my family and friends. That way when I bring beer over to their houses I know there will always be proper glassware waiting for me.

Wow, with all those gift packs, your 10 cases of westmalle dubbel and whatever else you have in your horde, you're going to have to buy a warehouse too....

Also I haven't tried the Rogue Dead Guy I got yesterday but last year it was sensationally good - really nice balance. There is SO much more to life than Belgian Trappist ale. Dead Guy is like a perfect beer to me guys so maybe try a few and see what you think!

went straight down to Ellesmere and Vic Park, and grabbed 10 of the 24 westmalles they had. Anyone in that area shouldnt have a problem grabbing whatever is left there. they also had about 20 or so Dead Guy's and some Black Sheep Monty Python's Holy Grail, haven't seen this one around before.

Regarding the Monty Python Holy Ale: was this added to the seasonal release as a replacement for something else, last minute? I've seen this around in the seasonal selection of previous years.

yeah i was wondering about it. i dont recall being told it was in the fall release, and some of the beers in the fall release no one has talked about. Such as the Erdinger dunkel, and the behaven wee heavy. Maybe it is a replacememnt for one of these? I'm drinking it right now, its not half bad, better than the normal black sheep ale, i think.

As of 9pm the Westmalle could be found at both Applewood (23) and Cloverdale (8) LCBOs

Any word yet on the DeKoninck Amber, Belhaven IPA??

Alright I know I keep blabbing about Westmalle Dubbel, but I finally tried some from this batch and yes it is quite good. It's been about 8 months since I had my last bottle so a direct comparison I can't make but it is fair to say it is at least as good as I remember it, and a little fuller tasting than before so I can vouch for Jan's statement.

This is the perfect beer to use to introduce someone to the realm of good beer. Most of the other beers I drink are Belgian Quads, Double IPAs, and Imperial Stouts which are way too much for the uninitiated (Based on much experience)

Just pouring number 4 right now....Mmmmm. edit: #5. Wow I could drink 10 of these......... Fan freakin tastic.
I could easily survive Lent drinking this nectar like the Trappist Monks do.
