I received an email a few minutes ago with the subject line "Samual (sic) Adams Utopias Order Confirmation" and got quite excited...

But then I opened it and saw this:
Below is a confirmation of your order. Please note that a bottle quantity of zero indicates the product is sold out, and not available.

Btl Qty LCBO# Description Price per btl Total
0 104711 Samuel Adams Utopias 114.95 0

Ditto. Oh well. I console myself with the thought that $120 will buy me a lot of other beers.

Same here. Got the big "0" bottle.

This just means a little beer road trip is in order to pick up some new stuff...I'll put the Utopia $ towards gas.

Just got the UPDATE email...was hoping they made a mistake.
But, no.....just reminding me, that in fact, I did NOT win a bottle in the lottery.

I got that email too.

Then I got a second email just to clarify that I really "did not" win one.

Talk about rubbing salt in the wound!

Not that I'm in any way upset. Don't get me wrong, it would have been neat to snag a bottle, but it's not really winning when you have to pay to get your prize.

This is a follow-up to our prior email regarding your Samuel Adams Utopias beer order.

The email was to inform you that you did not receive one of the available Samuel Adams Utopias beers for sale.

We apologize for any confusion and appreciate your interest in Vintages specialty products.

Ya, I got excited when I saw the first email before I saw the 0 quantity. Then when I got the 2nd e-mail I got excited hoping it was a mistake, but no.

So anyone with a bottle want to share?

Yeah the LC really handled that great! To paraphrase:

"Here's your item payment information." (useless and confusing)
"Here's your not really getting the item information." (tacky and inept)

Is being cross-eyed & dyslexic a job requirement over there? :D

All seriousness aside, I hope those who won really enjoy it & cheers. I could bring over something nice if you'd like a few attendees to share a wee nip of SAU - though you might just as well like to enjoy it yourself over a few years like a fine brandy or scotch.

I'm actually surprised more BT'ers haven't won, although its still early and returns are still coming in. What were the odds about 1 in 20 or so?

I wonder of all those who rolled the dice and didn't win, are actually relieved they didn't win?

Come on, admit it.

Or is drinking just actively encouraged?
