Help me. I've yet to find a DDC beer that I totaly loved.And I've tried all DDC that have been available at the LCBO this year. I thought, surely, Rigor Mortis would be the one, given that I love Belgian Quads. No dice. One problem is that I found most of their offerings too bitter for my palate and some others too subtle. They are competent beers, perhaps best in Canada overall, but not world class imo.

What are people's absolute favorite DDC beers from this thing:

Me: Aphrodite, and Aphrodite.

I wasn't sure about the second one but I am now.

lol....like I said, I'm not a fanatic of DDC so far but I would have to say Route des Epices was memorable to say the least. Its actually quite manageable and tasty when consumed with food, like a steak which is what I had with the 2nd bottle. I was sorely dissapointed with Rigor Mortis and all their stouts and the IPA are a bit too bitter and subtle for my taste. Derniere Volonte is one that I could drink from time to time.

Took your advice and had a couple with my barbecued pork chops marinated in chipotle in adobo sauce amongst other things. Pepper on pepper taste was amazing!

For me the Rosee D'Hibiscus was the one that stood out so far but it came a little too late. I wish I could have enjoyed that one in the summer months. I havent had the Rigor Mortis yet, went to the small Jane and Major Mack location when online inventory said 24 units but couldnt find it. I didnt bother asking and just got the other stuff I went for.

Overall I found this release to be very underwhelming to be completley honest.

I always love the chance to get my hands on some Peche but that would have showed up independent of this release.

I enjoyed the Aphrodite but it is not something I rushed back to the LCBO to stock up on.

Rigor Mortis was decent but I only bought 2 bottles of that and won't buy any more.

I was very disappointed with Corne Du Diable and the others were all average or below average.

The one that would have been great in this release was Equinox du Printemps. It is a shame that it didn't make it.

They generally don't mind getting stuff for me out of the back at that location, although normally I use that as a store to pick up seasonals later into the season if stock dissapears at Yonge/7

Yes, as far as the unrefrigerated imported single beer was concerned, the shelf was half empty at that store. I was going to ask but I was in a hurry. They have a good vintage bargain bin there....lol I will probably scoop a few Rigors tomorrow if I go by there since it looks like Aurora/Bayview, Yonge/7, and Dufferin/Major Mack is out.

My favourite out of this was actually the Rose d'Hibiscus. Beautiful colour, a floral and subtly tropical aroma, a little bit of a berry punch character to its flavour. It was actually quite surprising. It seems to be very well made in an understated sort of way.

I'm thinking about trying a simmer steak, a bison stew or a Coq au Biére using a couple of Route des Epices. The black pepper character is extremely fresh and snappy.

Overall I'm really happy with the DDC feature beers, and the supply which keeps some locations pretty well-stocked. This brewer deserves to be a regular supplier to Ontario.

I got some in the private order of Equinoxe and it was ordered in April and came in August, almost in time for the "Equinox du Automne".
It was probably my fave of the DDC beers I tried this year, but I did like the variety in the release.
