So they're actually selling the Aventinus Eisbock in 500 ml bottles? Wow. Anytime I've seen it south of the border, it's been in smaller bottles - 330 ml, I think - so I figured the 500 ml in the LCBO's original announcement was a typo.
This makes the $3.95 price-tag even more insanely cheap!
Friggin' eh right that's a deal...I'm stocking in for the next decade

They really should rename it Aventinus "Eiswine" and/or perhaps classify it as wheat wine....in the same vein as another thread referring some strong Belgian ales as Belgian Barley wines.
No offense but - are you
serious?
Calling this product "Wine" would lead to a flurry of LCBO lab tests (possibly making use of the NASA test facilities) - plus unaccountable delays 'till late spring - plus the product being re-labelled seven times - plus the briefly shelved product being abruptly pulled if one single customer got confused - plus Schneider being unceremoniously stuck with the entire expense of the whole aborted venture, resulting in them getting pissed off & ceasing all business activities with the LCBO including existing products.
This is only a slight exaggeration of what the highly irrational LC cronies are capable of screwing up, so don't wake the lions.

LOL, Now I'm convinced Ontario is immune to humor.

Explains why we don't have funny beer names:

And here I thought I was being clever

. Life is to short to be a "wine"er
How about "Weissewine"?
Anyone else have any reviews on the Aventinus? I'll probably hold off until the weekend to try it.

Maybe leading with "No offense but are you insane?" might have been a bit strong then? If that was humor, where do I sign up for my vaccination?
Oh. Hmm.

Somewhere Hans-Peter Drexler sighs and wonders if his brewery's centuries long persuit of excellece is really wasted on Canadians.

Speaking of the Eisbock, how do we read the best before dates?

Probably European style, day/month/year. The correct way of doing a best before date, not all this reverse stuff that goes on over here!!
Although I haven't seen a bottle so I can't say

On the back there are two sets of numbers. I'm not sure if they're best before or bottled on dates or something else.
1st: 07.241
