Looks like they've got a BBA porter in the retail fridge. Funny how they don't really publicize some of the releases and others get so much fanfare.
There's a pig roast at the brewery tomorrow too.

Attn: Hopheads. We have a new IPA coming out next week featuring the newest, coolest hop from Yakima - Equinox.
Always have to get excited for a new IPA from Lackey.

Thrust! an IPA is being brewed again for a release in a few weeks. This one is probably favourite GLB IPA, next to Lake Effect.
Also, it looks like GLB is announcing a new Tank Ten release this week. No info on the beer yet but the image they teased eludes to it being a pretty hoppy beer.

This brand spanking new unfiltered IPA pours a burnt gold that wears it’s white cap brilliantly. Forget the smell for a second and bask in the beauty of this IPA! Yet, when you get your nose into the glass in front of you, notes of zested lemon, fresh papaya, and some lighter notes of elderberries hit you in the face, then the pine comes along and takes over. The body is medium to medium light with a soft carbonation that allows the flavours of the Equinox hop to shine through. Tropical fruits (papaya, kiwi) and lots of resiny goodness. Sweet up front, then juicy, leading to a pleasant bitterness and a very dry finish.

Guys - thanks for all of your comments about our hours, our website fridge postings, and our beer availability in general.
We try our best to keep the "What's in the Fridge" section of our website up to date, but unfortunately sometimes things slip through the cracks. We're working on resolving that. However, that being said, we post all new beers on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and now on the blog section of the website. I think one of the issues for smaller breweries is trying to find the time while wearing many different hats in the everyday operation of a functioning brewery.
With respect to our retail store hours, we hear you and we encourage this type of feedback. We have been evaluating our open hours recently and we'll be sure to share any changes with you all on our respective social channels should any occur. That all being said, your comments will be shared with our team. Thank you.
Regarding how to get to GLB easily without a car, we'd recommend either of two options - TTC (get off at Royal York and take 76 Bus to Sinclair. Walk west one block to brewery) or Go Train (get off at Mimico station and walk north on Royal York to Queen Elizabeth Blvd).
For releases of one-off or Tank Ten beers on Saturdays...we've tried that and got flack. We've tried Thursdays and got flack. We've tried Friday's and got flack. So, we roll with the punches and put the beer in the fridge when it's ready to go.

If you ever have any questions and or comments that you'd like to directly share with Great Lakes, please don't hesitate to send an email to
info@greatlakesbeer.com ATTN: Troy. We're more than happy to share information with everyone.
Thanks for all the support guys!
Cheers,
Troy Burtch - GLB

For anyone who didn't already know - Great lakes have officially discontinued their Devils Pale Ale opening up a spot for a future beer to fit into their core lineup.

Yup. I'd been hearing rumors of this since the summer. It makes me sad. It was one of my gateway beers.

Hope they replace it with Lake Effect or Thrust! for year round availability... Pretty please!

I never cared for Devil's so I'm indifferent about I being continued. If one of their better IPA becomes a year-round offering through all of this I'll be happy.

True, they don't currently have a year round IPA offering in the LCBO.
