The problem with the LCBO is when I get pissed at Customer Service its not like I can look elsewhere for the products 90% of the time.

I rarely go to Crappy Tire because their service sucks. Instead I go to Home Hardware since most of their employees are happy to help the customer and know the products they are selling.

That's been my experience with CT/HH too.

you know, if whenever we were having these terrible customer service situations, if we actually complained to management rather than whining on bartowel, we may actually see something change. the odds are certainly greater. i mean, how many folks from LCBO management do you think are actually reading these forums? if nobody ever complains about the chumps, how can we expect their behaviour to change?

by the same token, perhaps we should also go out of our way to praise those who do give good service so they keep up the good work. maybe the chumps will see this as incentive too. it certainly can't hurt.

By not reporting poor service to the powers that be, you're reinforcing it.

Employee A: "I must be doing a good job, 'cause no one's said anything to the boss about me."

Boss" "Employee A must be doing a good job, 'cause no one's said anything to me about him/her."

If you haven't tried to solve the problem, then you really shouldn't be complaining about it.

Three simple words. Unionized government employee.
Fair enough I suppose, but I don't think anyone is sitting down and saying.....

"Yeah, I want to offer the worst service possible and annoy the customers as much as I can, because i belong to a union."

Christ, 3/4 of the employees hate "the union" because they absolutely blue balled us in the last agreement.

But this is interesting. I'm gonna ignore all my instincts and behave like a typical LCBO employee. No extra help for customers on my own time while I am sitting at home, no special beers organized by myself while I am on my own time, and no phone calls to those that I consider valuable customers anymore. Cause I typically call them FROM HOME on my own time. Cause you know, all of us LCBO employees are horrible.

In fact, find another LCBO employee that calls customers on their own time during weekends and time off, just to kept them in the know about beers. You may have a hard time finding that.

Bit I am chastised here and treated like I organized 9/11. Fair enough. I'm done with looking out for everyone else. Get your own beer.
I can see where you're coming from Len. It's one of the most frustrating things to have to deal with, getting painted with the same brush as a bunch of douchebags. I'm a student, and in some people's minds that makes me a second-class citizen, even though I rarely go out to parties, never go out to clubs, never do anything to degrade the local community, but still get stuck with a lot of bullshit assumptions and prejudices.

And I think there probably are people who intentionally offer lousy service, because as many of us know, customer service sucks ass sometimes and inspires a contemptuous attitude in some. I worked at a Tim Horton's when I was younger, and by the time I left I was amazed that I never 'accidentally' spilled their coffee all over some idiot customer's face. Some people are just assholes, whether they're providing or recieving service. If it makes you feel better, I'll change my forum signature to help promote you as a good employee.

Also, you've never explicitly denied organizing 9/11, or helping to organize 9/11, or supporting Al Qaeda. So until you've provided documentary evidence that you in fact did not have anything to do with 9/11 or Al Qaeda, I will remain suspicious.

There you go!

And tomorrow I have to go to London and will be very near Clarke Road. I can stop in and play "The Mystery Shopper" and can report back on his excellant people skills, of which I have no doubt.

Shhhhh, dont tell him, he will will never know, I can sneak in with "The Breakfast Club".

Employee K caught the Boss doing it with the stock girl. So the boss lets Employees K and F get away with smoking weed in the shipping bay all day, and handle the beer department.

I won't be there unfortunately. But you won't get shitty service at my store. Especially if you ask for help from Nick or myself (when I'm there).

I've had good service from LCBO employee's much more than bad.

Good example: Milcroft store in Burlington, Muskoka Harvest Ale had come out and store was showing inventory of 12, so I figured they got one case in. Couldn't locate it, asked, employee went out back, couldn't find it, checked the computer with me, went out back again and finally found the box. It had not been put on the right shelf. She spent at least 15 minutes looking for me.

Bad example: Went out of my way to a store in Mississauga that showed quite a bit of inventory of Black Creek Porter (can't recall the exact amount). Found only 3 bottles on the shelf, so asked if they had more out back. Was flatly told no. Decided to let it go because I have had situations in the past where the store really did sell a lot and were out. However, checked the inventory the next day and they still had plenty. The guy was just too lazy to look.

For me, this is all gonna hinge on what the stock girl looks like and whether or not they're bringing in enough weed to share with everyone.

No problem Len. Although this still leaves me a little unsettled:

Well I thought I had finally found a good one at my local store, but alas it's already turned into a disappointment.

I stopped in about 3 weeks ago to request a store transfer of a case of Denison's Weiss (100+ units in Oakville). The CSR checked the computer and said they would just order me some from the warehouse, and it should be about a week to come in. I said "That's great, I want it to take away for the long weekend so that should work out perfectly".

Well I'm leaving tomorrow morning and still no word on the beer... I think this is the third or fourth time I've tried to get product ordered/transferred to this store (dealt with a different CSR each time), and they've never come through so I guess I should have expected to come up empty handed again.

I just wish I had time to go out of my way and buy some from Oakville myself... Maybe someone can recommend another canned wheat beer that I might be able to find in Hamilton (other than Wellington Silver Wheat)?

Just had to vent, I was looking forward to sharing a few cans of Denison's at the cottage this weekend :(.
