At the very least, I'd split a case with someone. (Depending on how scholarship matters and the like work out, I'd potentially be in for a case.)

Just a suggestion but...since this ST/DFH thread seems to be wandering every which way perhaps you guys can continue a Phillips private order discussion in its own thread in the "private ordering" forum?
I don't always piss in a bottle but when I do...I prefer to call it Dos Equis.

Not to worry. No talk about Phillips in this post. Want to make sure we are focused. No breaking the rules here.

And the Andy Brandt comment was just a joke..not claiming it's a great joke..but really, hardly a cutting insult.

I still think you are cutting LCBO too much slack. We can agree to disagree. (and by the way...you were taking shots at me...but that's okay...I am not offended)

But what's the latest on Southern Tier is there an ETA?

So all sniping aside...is the ST going to arrive this month?
What about the Dead Guy?

And will we have DFH this summer?
Maybe this was all a dream and Bobby killed JR?

Since I'm about to head to Chicago, it is disappointing to hear there is no Bells. A quick search led to this interesting, but long article that discusses why Bells is no longer in Illinois.

http://www.chicagoreader.com/features/stories/bells/

This ties in to the discussion here about needing a distributor/importer, and the problems that this has caused in some states.
Checking in here from the grand state of Illinois, and discovered that Bells has indeed resurfaced in the state. Their presence is through a relatively new "Kalamazoo Brewery". (Bells is based in Kalamazoo, Michigan.) This is apparently to get around the forever-married-to-your-distributor laws.

My original thinking was that these were just rebranded Bells beers, but it looks like the recipes may have been tweaked.

Interesting story, anyway.

I'm beginning to feel this way about a lot of things. Maybe I just dreamed that I sent in all my tax stuff a ridiculously long time ago? Maybe I just dreamed that I've been led to believe legitimate experience can get one a job? Maybe I just dreamed up the entire concept of the LCBO and their seasonal releases? But, no, that can't be right? If it was all a dream, it was so real! YOU were there! And you were there, and you were there too!

If only it were all a dream. But when you think about it, it probably all is a dream anyways. All part of the Matrix. I wish I'd taken the blue pill..........

If you are in Illinois...you should try the Three FLoyds Alpha King beer. Excellent beer and worth bringing back home...

Not to get anyone's hopes way up, but a guy at Cooper St. said "any day now" when I asked about ST at lunch today.
Whatever that means...

I asked a guy at Highland St. today, and he told me he didn't even know what it is.

Was it a British guy? I was in there the other day seeing if they had anything my local one didn't, he didn't know what I was talking about, haha.

I called the LCBO info line on Tuesday, and the person I spoke with said that it might still be a couple of weeks before it hits the shelves. Said there were labelling issues on ST's end that had to be rectified before it could go out.

Yeah, my hopes of having this for Father's day are pretty much dashed. The LCBO have placed the blame for the packaging/barcode issue squarely on the shoulders of the suppliers and are having them rectify it. The official word is now mid June. Meanwhile the cases sit in the warehouse slowly deteriorating.

Oh for f***s sake! *bangs head against wall excessively*

Could this situtation actually get anymore painstakingly annoying and idiotic? What could possibly be just so wrong with ST's packaging that they would have to delay the release of this thing AGAIN? They'd better bloody hope this beer can stand sitting around for a while and still be alright.

I swear, I have a mental image of a bunch of LCBO higher ups sitting in some room together, with a sixer of ST IPA: "I don't know guys, it says it's an IPA, but this is no Alexander Keith's by my palate...what are these yanks trying to pull on us exactly?".

That's it, I'm sending them a strongly-worded email.

Your scenario would involve them actually tasting it before putting it on the shelves. You give them too much credit.

Also, this isn't new information. Several pages back somebody said there was a labelling issue and there would be a delay. How is this different?
