Collective arts newest LCBO available IPA- Beach Haze.
Ok, I was a little thrown off by the style “Miami NEIPA” a bit of an oxymoron, no?
Anyways it turns out that it is very very good. I get tonnes of coconut and citrus in it. Coconut up front then leaning into a big hit of yuzu and then a lingering lychee flavour coming in. A good amount of bitterness at the end ties it all together nicely and it finishes even a touch dry somehow. No idea what hops are used, but I’m guessing some Sabro for sure because of all the coconut. It reminds me a bit of on of the “IPA #” beers CA was doing. It was a pink can I think and had comet hops and something else. If this is what a Miami NEIPA is then I’m here for it.
Burdock North Star Pilsner-This can won’t be attracting Joe Average if they nothing about Burdock, as it’s pretty basic. The beer itself is very solid. All Canadian ingredients. Crisp and clean with a solid bitter back end. A decent enough beer and I’ll buy a couple more to support local, but Bitburger at $2 less is a more attractive offer for me being very similar.
