Honestly, why can't we get rid of these pesky civilians causing trouble for government employees?

Wife's on a trip with the other girls to Pittsburgh, Erie, and Grove City. I asked her to make a stop at Premier on the way back across the border. The list was pretty extensive but she'll do her best.

Hope it has reopened. It was closed when I passed through Buffalo on Oct. 21 after the big storm of two nights previous. Premier Liquor was open, but apparently they have their own generator. I hate to think how much cheese and other perishable stuff PG had to chuck out. We dropped into a local Tops for beer and cheese. They still had some beer (and some pretty decent stuff at that), but the cheese was all being written off. I gather there were parts of Buffalo that were still dark some days later. I'm happy to say Cole's was open.

I got a call around 6pm; they had just driven to Premier and it was closed.

Damn.

I planned the trip for November 5th, I seriously hope they are re-opened. :(

Just called them up today and someone answered the phone, so they must be re-opened.

Funny story though, the guy I talked to said they are only getting the Oaked Bastard 3 Litre bottles, but the Stone press release says that Oaked Bastard will only be in the new 12 oz bottle 6 packs this year.

So now I'm confused.

I was thinking about making the trip down to Buffalo this weekend but may reconsider if they're closed

He probably got confused with the batch Double Bastard that is being released on the same day as the Oaked Arrogant bastard.

"Double Bastard Ale will once again be offered in 22oz bottles and the large 3 Liter bottles, while OAKED Arrogant Bastard Ale will only be available in 6-packs containing the new 12oz bottles."

All righty, so the store is re-opened. I was just down there today and came away with a pretty damn good haul.

5 Stone Arrogant Bastard
2 Stone Ruination
2 Stone IPA
1 Stone Smoked Porter
1 Harpoon IPA
1 Dogfish Head 90 Minute IPA
1 Dogfish Head Raison D'etre
1 Middle Ages Wailing Wench
1 Middle Ages Grail Ale
1 Rogue Santa's Private Reserve
1 Great Lakes Nosferatu
1 Great Lakes Christmas Ale
1 Sleeman IPA
1 Great Divide Hercules Double IPA
1 Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout
1 Omnegang Hennepin
1 Stoudt's Double IPA
1 Stone Coast 420 IPA

Not to mention a bar of chocolate for the lady, a jar of Anchor Bar wing sauce, a bottle of spiced apple cider, and four bottles of the absolutely glorious Virgil's Vanilla Cream Soda.

:D:D:D

Hey Gmonk, not sure if you still frequent this board or not but if so, please check your BarTowel 'IN Box' for a message from HogTownHarry. Thanks!

So me and my buddy, a newly indoctrinated Ratebeerian, decided we have to head back to Buffalo to grab more brew.

Quick hail-Mary question for you guys: I'm a big Sabres fan but I've never seen them play at home. Does anyone know if you can buy tix from scalpers outside HSBC? And how bad are the markups?

We found a ticket reseller, but after international shipping, it looks to be about $120 (US) apiece for 300 level seats. Any Buffalonians in the crowd to offer some advice?
