Quick hail-Mary question for you guys: I'm a big Sabres fan but I've never seen them play at home. Does anyone know if you can buy tix from scalpers outside HSBC? And how bad are the markups?

We found a ticket reseller, but after international shipping, it looks to be about $120 (US) apiece for 300 level seats. Any Buffalonians in the crowd to offer some advice?
I'm not from Buffalo, but I do know a friend that's a Sabres fan and bought tickets from a scalper outside the HSBC arena. Not sure where his seats were, but he paid something like 75 a piece.

I also just hit up the Gourmet yesterday, came back with a good haul. Here's a question, does anyone know if the big guy with the blond hair and goatee still works there? I can't remember if his name is Greg or Karl, but he was always a pleasure to talk to.

That's Greg and no, he no longer works there. Karl still works there but in a different department.

Man, that really sucks. I always had good conversations with the guy and he remembered me even if there were two months between visits.

Anytime I've been to a Sabres game, there's been a lot of scalpers there. As usual, the best advice is probably to wait until the game has started. Although, given the popularity the Sabres have achieved lately, it may be a bit tougher to get tickets for a decent price now.

As an FYI to the gent looking for Sabres tickets, although I haven't used them yet myself, I've heard good things about http://www.stubhub.com. Good luck!

I can second that. A lot of empty spots on the shelf. On the plus side, my buddy and I declared at the border, and were waved through with a hearty "Happy New Year." Honesty works! Who knew?

We went down in late December and there was a crazy run on stock. I'm looking forward to the busy shelves again!
