some local citzens talking about them. Try anything? more tart than Sonnen?
I work about 3 minutes away from these guys - owners are a long-standing local family, and a former Bellwoods brewer. Really fascinating set-up - all oak, mostly home-made brew house, some (all?) open fermentation. Ran out of beer within a couple of weeks and closed for a while so they could brew more.

I had the first batch of the lager, saison, and hoppy saison. Lager was interesting - definitely a little funk, but not as much as some of the Sonnen ones. Hoppy saison in particular was very nice, and exactly what was described. I'd say barnyard rather than tart.

I'll be fascinated to see how they do. This isn't an area with a huge number of adventurous drinkers, and they're brewing adventurous stuff. Plus the price point ($4.50 for a stubby of lager, up to $16 for a wine bottle size of the others) isn't one I see locals paying on a regular basis. Hopefully I'm wrong, but...

Did an order to try, and got it today. We will taste test in 4 weeks with a few guys. Looking forward to it.
