Both the LCBO head office and the store I bought it at have been informed. Going to phone Scotch Irish later today as well.
Good point about over priming. I just assumed that the sour skunkiness/infection I've expereienced was the cause, but there may be other explanations.
FYI......the bottle was bought at the Town Square location in Waterloo on November 26th. Watch out if have these bottles!

Say what you want about Trafalgar, at least they don't sell "bombs".
Well they try. Boney I hope the LC refund your purchase, if not your cleaning bill!
I will be dismayed if that entire batch of Black Irish is not immediately pulled from LCBO store shelves. Imagine bottle-glass exploding in someone's eyes, or if a kid or pet were nearby?? Could be extremely tragic!! And this is the fate of a great Canadian name in Porter.
As for Heritage 'being the same' -- Scotch Irish stuff IS Heritage stuff now, so watch out for your

'bomber' of Blackcurrant Rye (I bought some also, thanks for reminding me - I will "disarm" that bomber soon.)

I split a bottle of the Heritage Blackcurrant Rye with my wife - was pretty thin but not sour or off. That was about the 6th and we bought it in Oshawa.
I think it would be decent if it was an unfiltered beer, but as it was I won't buy anymore.

I am having my first Bitter Brown and am so impressed with it that I had to post here.
Not at all what I expected.
Very nice aroma. Surprising (and nice) coffee aroma. First taste is full and malty with some burnt coffee flavours. The roastiness is really coming through. Not what I expected, but very enjoyable. Moderate hops in the aftertaste. Reminds me of the Holy Smoke. Delicious!
I'm buying more.
