Definitely worth trying this on cask... I had a pint of the cask version at C'est What a week or so ago and found it packed full of body and flavour. It's great to see different styles of IPA out there.

Now if only we could get the bottled and available for purchase at either the beer store or the LCBO. I find it hard to believe that their is not a market for these beers in the greater Ontario market.

I popped in to the GR brewery today for some curmudgeon, after tasting it at the Volo, and they were sold out!

Obviously, we need to get better at keeping secrets.

Come out to London. Lots available in bottles at Chancey Smith's. Or come try it on cask at the King Edaward in Ilderton. Both places come highly recommended.

We will do a final bottling of the Curmudgeon today and we decided to add another brew so we have some in process. It should be available through April. Our Russian Gun Imperial Stout will come out at the end of March and will be available in the 500ml bottle as well.

Had a bottle today at Chancey Smith's for lunch and just checked to make sure it's still on cask at the King Eddy to try it for dinner tonight!

As an added note: our sense of timing is a bit questionable. Coming into the summer selling season, we will have 2 beers over 6% available. So much for winter warmers. How about May Monsters or June Giants?

Just back from the King Eddy where Rich hosted us to a bunch of cask-Curmudgeons. I find it much more enjoyable on cask. Very well done. I found the cask to be less harsh flavoured and better balanced. I prefer the less-carbonated cask-drawn ales and this one really shines. Looking forward to other GRB casks at the King Eddy!

I enjoy strong brews in the spring. The weather's nicer, so you're outside more, but it can still be quite cool... so it takes the edge off.

Doppelbock, maibock, IPA... though the IS probably would be a little more winterie.

Monsters of May has a certain ring to it...

We took delivery of 2 more casks of this fine ale last week and the first was tapped last night. Even better than before, a little more rounded with an even longer finish.

I didn't find this overly hoppy, but I sure did like the dry finish and tasty malt backbone.

I found this one good, not great. A solid B. I found it a little thin, and I'd like a little more hop flavour. Excellent bitterness and nice malt flavour. But I'm still waiting for a great Ontario IPA. (Admittedly, I'm more a fan of the American style than the Brit.) But this is certainly a nice beer. I just wish it was available out my way.
