that's pretty cool though.

haha, i'm certainly not infallible. in fact, i'd be more than happy to see someone brewing better than we are. good beer is a good thing, regardless of who's making it.saints_gambit wrote:Time for the least effective smacktalk ever.

Hell ya to this! I think I get more excited for other people winning than I do for myself. And I can't wait to try their beer! Competitions are not all about winning for me, I feel they make everyone involved (judges, entrants and stewards) better brewers.grub wrote:haha, i'm certainly not infallible. in fact, i'd be more than happy to see someone brewing better than we are. good beer is a good thing, regardless of who's making it.
I always say, "you can't win if you don't enter." In other words, you might be surprised by how good your beer is, so don't be bashful. And most comps have really stepped up the prize packages, which is always a nice bonus.
Anyways, good luck to all of you, hope you have fun!
i agree with both of you guys. i think the best thing about this competition is the # of entries. 60+ entries in the first year of this competition is amazing as far as im concerned. best of luck to all those who entered!markaberrant wrote:Hell ya to this! Okay, so we're at 95 beers, and with a bit of manipulation, combining and collapsing styles, we've ended up with 15 categories. We'll aim to post the results as they come in on Sunday evening via the torontobeerweek twitter feed (@TorontoBeerWeek), which is also viewable on the TBW website (www.torontobeerweek.com). The winners will advance to the best in show round at Amsterdam on Thursday afternoon, where we'll announce the winners at the Oktoberfest celebration. Prizes will go out soon after that, and the higher up the ladder you finished the better the prize.
Cheers again to everyone for taking part, and to our generous sponsors, Amsterdam, Bob @ Beer and Wine Filter, Randy @ Canadian Homebrew Supplies, The Granite and Taps Beer Magazine. These guys are giving back to the community and deserve our support.
