Derek and I ordered a case of it, along with a case of Terrible a few years ago.
The LCBO had them in 2004, so they were still on the books when we ordered (2005?)... no problems... no testing fees.

I've still got 2 or 3 bottles of each (though I did pick up some more Terrible stateside).

Anchor Liberty Ale. What the hell happened to this beer? This bottle is a mere shell of what I've experienced in the past. Watered down? There's only a fraction of the hops I expect in this one. Drinkable but not even close to the beer I've had many times before.

I started off with an Amsterdam Spring Bock, in anticipation of the next release.

Then I was bottling tonight... so I had about 5 pints of carboy-conditioned ale.

Anyone that loves hops really ought to homebrew...

I could've used another liver last night!

The dry hops didn't settle out in the secondary very well, and I didn't want to transfer the dregs to the bottling bucket, so I racked the last bit over to a pitcher.

So much 'green' hop flavour when a dry-hopped brew is fresh (it gets muted with bottle-conditioning & aging). Couldn't let that go to waste!

Hmmm, in hindsight, I should have gone to that "Teach a Newbie How to Homebrew" event at Amsterdam. I don't really know what's involved. It seems like a lot of work, but I suppose the payoff can be worth it if you know what you are doing.

Maybe I'll look into it when I stop making regular trips to the States!

Unless it is at least 5 ounces, it doesn't qualify as a big glass.

Denison's Weissbeer from the second canning. What a relief to see it back in top form. Just a fantastic beer.

At the Victory earlier:
Black Oak Nutcracker CASK (sublime)
County Durham Red Dragon CASK (they ran out of Nutcracker and switched over)
Mill Street Cobblestone Stout (which seemed quite cold and somewhat flavourless after the two casks)

At home:
Denison's can (best canning yet. Very, very good)
Mike Duggan #9 IPA bottle (Super solid, need to get to the brewpub)

That's it for tonight!

The Duggan #9 was VERY good at Petit Dejeuner. Anybody care to get a 9.50 chicken crepe at lunch sometime, that's the best cheap lunch in the area, beating out Cest What and beerbistro.

The Denison's can I just had was from the first October canning (to compare with the later one) and because it was refrigerated, it was simply fantastic. Being an unfiltered yeasty beer, I pour 80% of it, swirl the rest in the can like crazy, pour the yeasty fog over the glass, and go for a pee so the glass has a minute to settle into perfection. This is a really really good local beer.
