I beg to differ. I had a tasting with the 2004 & 2005 barley wines and both held up very very well, far better than the dog awful 2008 they have produced.
It all depends on how you cellar and keep the ales my dear chap

I also beg to differ. The bw tasting we did had bottles from 2004, 2005, and 2008 and the 2005 was the clear favourite. It was quite delicious.

I third. The 2005 was a surprise and in a good way. Score one for Sid's cellarmanship.

Innis & Gunn Rum Cask, purchased last Christmas. Much better with age than it was fresh.

Greg, Josh (tuqueboy) and I were lucky enough to sample BrewDog's Tactical Nuclear Penguin this afternoon.

Troy - you look like a smug douche in that photo.
I'm drinking a couple John By Imperial Stouts. I will not be buying any more.

I'm drinking the St. Ambroise Stout Impériale Russe. Awesome beer! It is right up there with any of the best RIS's that I've had.

To be fair, we should note that Gedge was there as well, so the anger/jealousy can be spread more equally...

A bit off topic... I am curious if anyone here knows the answer : What is the Ontario law for giving away beer/liquor as a prize without obtaining a liquor license in Ontario?
(correct me if I'm wrong but I believe the answer is - one (licensees and non-licensees) is not allowed to distribute liquor in a raffle/winning liquor manner... correct?)

As a stout they're passable, but as an imperial they're a pale imitation, especially with peche mortel and brooklyn black chocolate having recent availability. I feel the bottles I've had this year were were especially thin in body compared to previous versions.
