Brewdog Punk IPA is my beer of choice for the big game tonight. Just opened the first one of the day.

Three threads...

Amsterdam dry dock porter - drier, roastier & a little fruitier.
Black Oak Nutcracker - looks the best, has the fullest body & a little more sweetness... love it.
GL Edmund Fitzgerald - less roasty, more chocolate, way more hops.

Tonight I popped the cork on a Unibroue La Fin Du Monde that was bottled on August 17th, 1999. The oldest beer I've ever had. No oxidation, still some carbonation and it was incredible, definitely in my top 5 beers ever. Very multilayered, very smooth, hard to think this is 9%. I found 2 bombers at my parents that had been sitting there for 10 years, with glasses. What are the odds of finding a beer from you favourite brewer with proper glassware that's been significantly aged? Incredible!

Hey Gary,

I saw your letter in All About Beer this month... good stuff, too bad they cut you short for space!

Back on topic... Propeller Porter & Mahr's Christmas bock (which is surprisingly a Helles, and not that great).
