You are probably remembering the Lindemans Kriek. It is very, very sweet.napoleon wrote: I can't remember. Was it the St. Louis Fond tradition Kriek that was really terrible? I remember a Kriek a couple years ago from the LCBO that was so sweet it was a drain pour. I could be confusing this one with another one.

New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS
Hanlan's Point is seriously good. Even though its a porter, it's very close to Aphrodite and I would not dare to call it any worse. Would love a side to side comparison. I swear, GLB has been running away with it lately in Ontario. And whichever local brew shop does anything like Peche Mortel and makes it available on a regular basis, will have my wallet.spinrsx wrote:new

Meh, same beer in a can at roughly same price. It's a hardly a blip on my radar. Monkeys have been disappointing for a few years.

I for one am looking forward to it. The format of FM's offerings has been until now my main deterrent from picking them up more frequently. I hope they can some of their seasonal as well.Blasphomet wrote:Yes! \m/spinrsx wrote:

To each their own but I feel you're part of an extremely exclusive group.
In my humble opinion there is no comparison in any possible way between GLB and FM.

LOL!
GLB is killing it and has been for ages. Of course, my day old Karma Citra cans that I picked up this morning will be terrible I'm sure loool.
Them and Nickel Brook are by far the best OCB with brews readily available and fresh at the LCBO. I'm actually surprised to hear someone suggest differently.
As for Flying Monkeys... I mostly agree, and if I didn't state it here, it was somewhere else. Their 750ml are so damn hit or miss that my hand shakes every time I decide to pick up a new one I haven't tried yet, be it brewery only or from the LCBO. The Paranomal Pumpkin is probably the best pumpkin beer I've had... and after a year of age, it was twice as good. Acadian Groove... wasn't a fan. BNL and 3Chocolate... great. The Tribe Coconut Stout was musty and terrible. The Aurora Heart Strawberry Chocolate Stout wasn't even a stout. More like a brown ale or a lighter porter.
As for the canning of their Smash Bomb and other core products... I think it's great. I am never really let down by Smash Bomb and look forward to being able to by a tall boy or two instead of a six pack (i hate pulling out singles) which cuts into my other beer purchases.

I do find GLB's quality has stuffered the past couple years but whatever.
Jolly Pumpkin Bam showing stock!

Collective Arts Seasonal Variety Pack is on shelves and showing inventory. 2 Gose, 2 Papaya Saison, 2 Hefe. Can't wait to get into these.
In my not so humble opinion there is an easy comparison to be made. Both suffer in the same distribution system that doesn't allow for the best brewers to make their beers readily available. But I'm a crusty old fuck.CoolB wrote: In my humble opinion there is no comparison in any possible way between GLB and FM.

Ive been excited since it was announced 3 weeks ago, still the closest store with stock is 43km away! Nothing in georgetown, milton, mississauga, brampton, oakville. Having a guest from cambridge on the weekend, may ask her to hit her local, and barncat artisan ales on her way.beerstodiscover wrote:Collective Arts Seasonal Variety Pack is on shelves and showing inventory. 2 Gose, 2 Papaya Saison, 2 Hefe.
