Shepherd Neame's Spitfire Kentish Ale. This beer has improved in my view, in the past (while always good) it seemed to have a marked yeasty note even though seemingly filtered if not pasteurized. It reminded me in this respect of a number of French and Belgian ales - perhaps this was a "regional" resemblance. Now, I find it less yeasty and this allows the fine malt and English hop values to come through more. Essentially a fine pale ale or India Pale style. For the Anglophiles in matters beerological, few bottled beers are better.

Charlevoix Double Simcoe IPA. Far far too sweet for the wonderful Simcoe hops to bite through. There is bitterness in the finish but it's not enough and the sweetness is far too cloying. A shame as I was looking forward to this

Rogue's Captain Sig's Northwestern Ale. A real nice well balanced Amber Ale.
