Shepherd Neame's Spitfire Kentish Ale. This beer has improved in my view, in the past (while always good) it seemed to have a marked yeasty note even though seemingly filtered if not pasteurized. It reminded me in this respect of a number of French and Belgian ales - perhaps this was a "regional" resemblance. Now, I find it less yeasty and this allows the fine malt and English hop values to come through more. Essentially a fine pale ale or India Pale style. For the Anglophiles in matters beerological, few bottled beers are better.

Drinking a glass of store bought limoncello before heading out.
As a side note, this is my first attempt at making beverage alcohol. Hopefully in a month this will be a couple bottles of limoncello, and not just a big jar full of alcohol induced blindness.

Charlevoix Double Simcoe IPA. Far far too sweet for the wonderful Simcoe hops to bite through. There is bitterness in the finish but it's not enough and the sweetness is far too cloying. A shame as I was looking forward to this

I gave up beer for Lent, so I'm drinking grapefruit juice and pretending its an unbalanced west coast IPA.

If only my life was simple enough to live on doppelbock...
(driving and work would be the main issues).
I had my last Doppel Hirsch last night.
