What does pasteurization have to do with honey being added?

The Fullers Honey and Belhaven Blueberry have made their appearance in Brampton at Dixie and 7.

I think he means is the honey added before fermentation (before the beer is pasteurized) or if the beer is pasteurized, then blended or infused with honey (ie sweetened) to give the finished product. Or he could just be asking if the honey is pasteurized.

I would guess the honey is added post-boil, pre-fermentation, hence pasteurized.

Picked up both Fuller's and Belhaven.

Fuller's was pretty much as described. I liked it and will pick up more for summer sippin' in the sun.

The Belhaven was a disappointment after having Lion's Blueberry beer at Mondial. I loved that beer. It was like drinking blueberry pancakes. (Don't think literally, that's a bad visual.) Belhaven was pretty thin on the blueberry taste. Assuming the girlfriend doesn't go apeshit over it, I'll probably pick up two more to have some summer variety.

It sucks that I wasn't able to find any of Lion's Blueberry beer anywhere in Montreal.

Had the Fullers Honey Dew last night after building a backyard deck and felt that the honey made the beer taste un-refreshing as I didn't taste much of the hops in the finish. A litte too sweet for my taste, but I will try again in different circumstances, perhaps with or after a dessert.

I noticed the Liefmans, probably the most try-worthy beer on this list, isn't in stores yet according to the LCBO website.

Coincidence? Or are they held up by testing every bottle to make sure there's not too much alcohol/flavour?

Shouldn't have anything to do with your machine. I see what you mean though - the quote mark-ups are appearing as plain text in your post. Weird!

EDIT: Here's a thought - there are a bunch of check boxes under the form where you enter replies, one of which is labelled "Disable BBCode in this post". Make sure it is unchecked when you quote something - that may be what is causing your posts to display the quote mark-ups rather than processing them.

If this check box is ending up checked every time by default, check your profile settings.

This is my first posting, and I was spurred to finally log in by the utter disgust that I feel towards the LCBO.

I am halfway through my first and only bottle of this Belhaven's, and I am outraged! How many thousands of beers in the world, of which they bring in a half dozen new ones for us to try, and this is one of them?

Do they not taste the beer they sell?

I love Belhaven's Wee Heavy, but I can't finish this swill.

What can you expect from a place that seems to have bent over backwards to bring in at least one pilsener from each of the former Soviet Republics, but which won't even bring in craft beers from B.C. or the U.S.A.

My rant is done. I am going to drink a real beer.

Hey Rosko, keep posting!. Everyone's opinion is respected on this board and speaking for myself I can say that the opinions I read sometimes influence my purchases. Because of that I find the odd treasure that I may not have seen or looked for. There are some very knowledgeable people on this board (I'm not one of them) and the banter can be instructive and enlightening.

BTW, I agree wholeheartedly with your assessment...I thought it may have been just me...
