They actually claim to use malt extracts (on the tour I presume)? That surprises me. So in other words, they're going even cheaper than what most consider the cheapest malt (without going to extract or adjunct of course, which it sounds like they also do). Yet charging anyone outside of the Maritimes premium prices. Yikes.
As for cheapness of production, I imagine the ingredient formulation is determined far more in the accounting department than the brewhouse.
