When it was on tap at Gambrinus last summer, I found it to be a decent and refreshing quaff. And you make a good point - solid sales of the Honey Dew might lead to more interesting Fuller's seasonals down the road.Kel Varnsen wrote:Yea from what I remember from my trip to the Fuller's brewery the Honey Dew was pretty good.Belgian wrote: I think Fuller's Honey Dew is a pretty nice-tasting, balanced ale with some respectable malt presence. Fair enough.
I can't stand it. It is a beer I always avoid. Thought I may have liked it last year on tap, but one was enough.Ass juice. I'll buy their other offerings though.
If you`re reading this, there`s a 15% chance you`ve got a significant drinking problem. Get it fixed, get recovered!
I rank Cuvée René up there with Hanssen's, but not quite in the league of Girardin, "Cantiloon", or Drie Fonteinen.
One thing for sure, its VERY unline Bellevue, Mort Subite, Chapeau, and other sweet tooth schoolgirl lambics.
It deserves its place among the alphas. If Cantillon is a 4.2, this guy is a 3.9.
I surely will stock up, if not only to see the face of those gueuze first timers... and I dont think I will need to rush for it, since gueuze like this aint for the weak of heart.
GUEUZE in ONTARIO! GET EXCITED!

One of my favourite drinking moment was knocking back Hanssens gueuze from the bottle at the Buffalo grehound station. Is there a more ghetto way to drink a gueuze?JesseMcG wrote:I've actually never had Lindeman's Cuvee Rene. When I've been able to get my hands on gueuze in NYC it's been Cantillon and Hanssens. The Hanssens Oude Gueuze is KILLER, and their Kriek is awesome too. I've got a bottle of Oude Gueuze Boon and Belle Vue I still haven't tried as well.
The Lindeman's is a damn good gueuze. The Cuvee renee series is the real stuff, and worth the investment. Damn good style for the summer...
That is one of my favorite drinking moments as well, along with the Smuttynose Robust Porter. Buffalo is a good time.Bobsy wrote:One of my favourite drinking moment was knocking back Hanssens gueuze from the bottle at the Buffalo grehound station. Very much looking forward to the Cuvee Renee - good beer, pretty good price point.
I stayed at Hotel Nouvel in Montreal last year and they had the Rebelle Quebecois at $4.00 a pint in their restaurant. I was surprised that I really liked it. I'll let the fiancee take this particular hit for the team thoughBelgian wrote: The Brasseurs du Montreal beers can be hit-and-miss, so I will reserve judgment on the Coeur Brise Raspberry till it offends me personally. I kind of like this little brew pub, even with better stuff around MTL.

Well imagine something like beerbistro stuck out in a ghetto corner of the Cherry Beach area near a field, with a big empty steel-fenced asphalt yard that partly serves as a patio. THAT is pretty much BDM. But -- go and enjoy some food and try 4 oz gallopins of all their stuff, and you will suddenly find the place & even some of the beers really grow on you.
They could sure make the outdoor space more intimate and less industrial, it would help!! I'm sure some plans must be afoot for decking, privacy fencing etc.

Loaded up pallets of Hopyard Pale the other night. They're on the way to a summer release at the LCBO. Ontario's about to get a whole lot hoppier!

Yum, lots of hops on the pallet.Cass wrote:Yep, it's coming as part of a special product release, not a full beer seasonal release. More to come!phirleh wrote:Seen on Garrison's Facebook page:

Cass that is one beer that just deserves to be here; incredible freshness and more easy drinking than its big brother Garrison IPA.
