True. My real point is that (to my knowledge) the LCBO has specifically prohibited stores from doing this in the case of wine, but there is no policy with regard to beer. The result is that stores are free to do it if they choose to do so. As super-hyped, super-limited beers are relatively new to the LCBO, this has probably never been a problem before. But it should change now.

Oh, for sure. The guy at Manulife asked me why it was so popular, maybe there was an article or something? I told him there were only like 600 bottles available in the province, so it's a race to get them while you can. He said that explained it, then complained to a coworker that head office should probably have told them so they could prepare for it properly. "We're always the last to know."

Well I guess my timing was perfect. Went to Summerhill sometime after noon and didn't see any. Figured I'd go to Manulife on the off-chance that their 24 bottles hadn't disappeared yet and happily arrived at about 1pm to see the guy just stocking the shelf. Took a couple, left a bunch.

Bah, at 12:30 they told me it would be 2 or 3 hours. I would have just waited if I'd known it would only be half an hour.

I got back out. 4 left when I left twenty minutes ago.
Also, I called queens quay. They told me they had 24, but no word when they would be out. Might be available by now.

Just talked to manager at manulife on my way home to check for anyone following this thread.
6 left as of 535 pm think you have to ask for it. Wasn't on the shelf.

I called St. Lawrence market, their first response was "check back next week" but after I explained the quantity in Ontario and that two stores were already showing inventory, they came back and said "we have 22 on hand"
I raced over on my bike and grabbed three. There were about 12-15 when I left.
Strange that the LCBO website can't update more than once a day to compensate for daytime deliveries.

Stranger still is that the LCBO info line only regurgitates what one can find on the website. At the very least, I would have thought they could let me know which stores would be getting some in.

Think I'm the only one from Ottawa posting about it, but I called Rideau/King Edward an hour ago and the guy said 42 on order, not in stock yet (and hopefully within the next 24-48 hours).
Even though I still don't trust them and it's probably on the shelf right now.

I used helloLCBO to ask which stores would be getting this product. This was the canned answer I received from "Sherry"
Thank you for contacting helloLCBO about 3 Fonteinen Oude Geuze, product 320200.
According to our online product search two locations in the GTA show that they have inventory. Store #528 at Bay & Bloor 416-925-5266 and Store #568 at Yonge and Dundas 416-979-9978.
If these two locations are not convenient for you I would recommend speaking with the Manager of your local store and request that they order this product for you.
I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
If we have not fully addressed your question, please reply to this email leaving the subject line intact, or follow this link "
http://hellolcbo.com/app/answers/contact" for numbers to call a Contact Centre Agent .
So I responded that this did not answer my enquiries, and could they please provide a list of stores scheduled to receive it. 3 hours later, no response yet. Hopefully get some answer tomorrow.

These are clearly going to trickle out over the next day or 2....I'm sure Summerhill will end up with a few cases eventually.
No need to panic (although I was earlier haha). Wife managed to grab a couple after feeling sorry for my sweaty lunch hour motorbike ride/$40 ticket/no 3F experience...

With only 400 or so bottles in the GTA, if none of this is coming north of Steeles, I want to know so I can make a run tomorrow to a store with stock.

With the way these things go I'd be surprised if any made it north of the 401...

Does the LCBO website ever update during the day? I don't think I've ever noticed stock change as the day went on.
It's pretty sad, actually. Putting together a system that reflects real-time stock levels isn't very hard.
