I actually picked the bottle up off ebay in the UK with some paypal dollars I had from completing online surveys, and my dad ferried it over with a 1983 Hardy's (for a friend's birthday) last week. Sadly, not that romantic a story
It tasted very good, with a good level of carbonation after 35 years, strong tobacco notes, cocoa and some soy. Really neat. I shared it with Troy because he's worked damn hard for Toronto Beer Week.

What a beer moment to share, at least vicariously. Thanks Bobsy!

Drinking my 2 bottles of sweet petes peach wheat. Very nice wheat beer with a good amount of yeast esters to spice it up. Peach is in the finish which is nice and dry. Not sure if I would know its a peach wheat without being told, but it is an excellent beer. Liked it on cask much more.

Church Key Black IPA. The first bottle I had about a month ago was much hoppier in the aroma, but the finish is still quite bitter and has some hop astringency. Basically a hoppy strong stout, but still a very tasty beer.

Fresh Garrison IIPA. It's certainly hoppy but I've never found it a particularly well crafted beer.

DDC Derniere Volonte, kind of a really cool beer - today it hits me as having pineapple-like esters, spicy peppery phenolics, and woodsy pine-forest hops. Great feel to this beer, some good weight to it but not heavy. A tiny bit like S-B Hppfen Weisse in some ways!
