I am surprised that there is still no "official" press release for this (at least not that made it in to Cass' hands) ... I have read that these beers could be hitting the shelf this week ... strange...

Not intending to start a new thread, but how do you find out what's coming out in the next while? I'm practically used to shelf-browsing just to be able to find weird things that I haven't ever come across at the LCBO. I practically have to resort to dragging myself out to a store to shelf browse or stumble upon stuff I haven't heard about. Does anyone else know that the LCBO has Köstritzer Schwarzbier? I just found out TODAY!

I mean, if it wasn't for this site I wouldn't know anything about FM Supercollider, an order being put in for Augusta Ale, Grand River or Beau's Dunkel, GL Miami Weisse and all that.

Anyway I'm just curious how the average consumer like me can find their way around the LCBO (or even Beer Stores) inventory with the (new) beers that they have.

The less-new beers will appear on a region-customized ratebeer search.

I wonder if bartowel could set up a 'best 200 Ontario beers' listing based on ratings. That would give sales of good beer a kick in the ass! Sounds more like a pain in the ass though. I'm not one to volunteer work for others to do!

And also from their Facebook page, they expect the LCBO to dick around with this beer for about a month before it hits the shelves. Ridiculous but not surprising.

that's a shame...and only going to 24 stores so chances are Durham natives like myself will be shut out...Time to convince the wife a road trip to Barrie will be culturally stimulating...

What amazing timing! I just talked to my brother in Barrie and he's going to stop by the brewery this afternoon and try to snag a few. If he's successful I should have a few bottles on Saturday! :)

EDIT:

I love this website! Just got a note from my bro and he scored a bunch for me!! I should have a couple extras if any of the Hamilton crew are interested.

Come to poppa!

Not yet, I won't get it till Saturday.

That was my brother's pour this afternoon in Barrie, and he said it only tasted like about 145IBUs and not the claimed 160. :) I haven't gotten a full review from him yet, but he said he finished the bottle so I think he might be taking a nap now ;).
