There are close to 12000 bottles on order with an expected arival of Aug.18 but they do not have to go through lab testing again, they should be back on shelf by the end of August

Around the same time as Rochefort, 1200 bottles are on order this time around

Hot damn! I love that beer.

Hate those new standardized looking labels from Schneider, though. They all look the same on the shelf. I've probably walked by the Hopfen-Weisse a few times already thinking it was the regular Schneider...

Yeah, I'm guessing the new one is this...

Whereas the one we've had for a few years now is this...

http://www.ratebeer.com/beer/ochakovo-p ... tloe/2007/

The new one is still a standard lager, but is better rated then the other.

There are a few cases of La Vache Folle, DV Blanche and Lupulus, at Crossroads, on private order clearance.

Nice. Thanks for the info. I quite like La Vache Folle. I don't suppose you recall what they are selling it for?

The stout is going for $4.50, while Lupulus is at $10.50. Blanche might be at $4.50 as well, but I did not pay too much attention to it (even though its an outstanding wheat beer, just wasn't in the mood for one tonight), so I'm not too sure. Either way, its about a $1 off their regular shelf prices.

Those guys really don't pull any punches when it comes to marketing, do they?

From my observation, the wrapping and presentation of the Canny Man had many casual consumers, stopping and starting a conversation about it, usually starting with "what the hell is this", treating it as a novelty kind of item. It's great to be noticed, however, I imagine few people actually bought it, due to its high price, hence the lcbo putting a discount on it, recently. Although I'm sure they've done their calculations and this is what they think is best, imho, these obscure, local, not very well established nor too well regarded breweries, should really be re-thinking their pricing models, in order to entice first time and repeat customers. BTW, the box from the Wayward Son looks a lot like the boxes from Flying Monkeys special edition beers. Pretty cool, nevertheless.

I like this packaging a lot more than I liked the Canny Man. The paper wrap was over the top.
