LCBO Autumn 2011 Specialty Beer Release
The LCBO has been releasing a few pumpkin and darkly-named beers for Hallowe'en in the last few years - this is probably part of that release, just in a little early.Ukie wrote:Dont know if this belongs in here or not, but showing stock:
SHIPYARD SMASHED PUMPKIN ALE
LCBO 254896 | 625 mL bottle
Price: $ 7.30
EDIT: Confirmed this with my LCBO contact, and got a full list for the release. New thread here: http://www.bartowel.com/board/viewtopic.php?t=7181

To the London folks: the bottles of Garrison IIPA that are listed online are still sitting in the back and you have to ask for them. I was initially told that the store wouldn't sell them until the 12th, but then someone came in and grabbed a case, and when I mentioned that I knew several bottles had already been sold, the beer lady acquiesced and retrieved 6 of them for me. There's still 30 bottles left (not the 8 listed), so I'd recommend moving quickly as this brew will likely sell out within a couple days and - if past releases are any indication - never be re-ordered regardless of the strong demand. Cheers!
On a recent trip to New Brunswick, there was plenty of Garrison IIPA available. Enjoyed it there and brought some back. A very good beer, and a much better product than their Hopyard PA, IMO.Cass wrote:Yes, the LCBO released the Garrison IIPA to market so it should start showing up soon. Grab some of this great beer before it's gone!

Nope. No sarcasm at all...just surprised because Jarvis and Front is a little tiny ramshackle of a store, just blocks away from Queen's Quay where one would have thought these beers would turn up first. It was genuinely surprising, that's all. Sorry if it sounded like sarcasm.SMC wrote:Is this some kind of sarcastic remark? I'm trying to help the people in Mississauga because most of what I mentioned wasn't in the online inventory at the time, and we only have three decent stores to serve 750K people.JeffPorter wrote:...whodathunk?
Brampton's in the same boat: except we don't really have one or two decently consistent stores when it comes to releases...Orion's Gate is big and shiny, but doesn't always carry the full releases. The good stuff could turn up anywhere. Or nowhere. As is the case with Smashbomb. Georgetown has smashbomb and we don't!

My bottles taste fantastic, and the IIPA is hands down one of the best beers in this release. I would recommend that you go grab some for yourself, but you said you're only drinking Ontario craft beer for the next six months!SteelbackGuy wrote: The last time I had the Garrison IIPA it was an oxidized, overly malty, metallic mess. I sincerely hope it has improved since the last time I had it.

Drinking, my friend, drinking.

It doesn't mean I can't pick up a few things that aren't from Ontario, to drink after this experimental time. I intend to retry it!
If you`re reading this, there`s a 15% chance you`ve got a significant drinking problem. Get it fixed, get recovered!

This batch of Garrison IIPA is pretty great. The hops taste extremely fresh. I thought I was "done" with hoppy beers for the season, but I'll be buying more if this...Cheers!!!cratez wrote:My bottles taste fantastic, and the IIPA is hands down one of the best beers in this release.
